The Scarlet Knights came off with their third victory against Arkansas yesterday at High Point Solutions Stadium in Piscataway, NJ. Early in the game it seemed as though Rutgers was no match for Arkansas’ powerful defense, that is until the Scarlet Knights turned the tables. Twenty-one unanswered points were scored leading Rutgers’ to the victory over Arkansas.
Janarion Grant ignited the flames with his 58-yard punt return for a touchdown early in the third quarter. Sophomore wide receiver Leonte Carroo scored two fourth quarter touchdowns thrown by junior quarterback Gary Nova.
Rutgers students, alumni, and fans were all in attendance as the crowd resembled black seas at this annual blackout game. The crowd and all of the supporters in attendance feed into the player’s energy as they power through the game.
Coach Flood recalled, “It was deafening loud when they were on offense in that fourth quarter, and I can’t thank them enough for that. That is what a home field advantage should be. It’s what a home field advantage can do for a football team and it’s one of the factors in the win today, there’s no doubt about it.”–Rutgers Official Football Website
